About the Family Roots

The Dumond side of the family hails from Poitou, France, and came across the ocean to Charlesbourg in the mid-1600s. The Pitts side comes from Donegal (Ballyshannon) Ireland and more recently immigrated in 1811 or so[this final fact remains to be verified].
